How
do I determine which file size I need for my project? |
|
The optimal file
size for your particular usage will depend on several factors
including the size of your use and whether you are intending to crop
the image. Here are some suggestions:
|
1 mb
- Small Image Size (S). This
is best for web usages, and images at this size look good up to a
1/2 screen size. These images are 72dpi and are competitively priced
at $49. |
|
10 mb - Medium Resolution (M).
Ideal for print
usage of up to 5" x 7" (14x18.6 cm) at 300 dpi ($99). If,
for example, you are using the image on the inside of a brochure,
this is the perfect size (unless you are cropping and only using a
portion of the image). |
|
30 mb - Large
Image Size (L).
Best for a print usage of
8" x 12" (24x32 cm) at 300 dpi ($149).
Many customers also purchase these larger files sizes even when they
are using the image relatively small-- in order to achieve a maximum
density and detail in the image. |
|
50 mb - Extra
Large Image Size (X).
Print usage is
suitable for full spread print reproduction where the image can be
used up to 12" x 18" (30x40 cm) at 300 dpi ($199). Similar to the
30mb image file, these larger sizes can be used relatively smaller -
in order to achieve maximum density and detail in the image. Or,
it's best to use a larger file size if you are going to crop and use
just a detail of the image. |

|
Are your models
real? |
|
Absolutely!
As a matter of fact, many of the CDs we sell bear the real name of
the models. At mylife we feel it's important to use real people as
models, because they know how to act naturally. Also, they know
their art. For example, Megan is really a wonderful ballet dancer.
Angela is really a tri-athlete. And, yes, Leila is really a baby.
Nothing artificial here!
|
|
What is a release? |
|
A model or
property release is a written agreement between the model/property
owner and the photographer whereby the model/owner gives his/her
permission to the photographer to use the photographs commercially.
Releases generally permit the use of the image(s) for all purposes,
with exceptions for controversial, sensitive or defamatory uses. To
find out more, see our
licensing page.
|
|
Are your photos
model released? |
|
All
mylife photos are released; those photos that are not released have
no place on our website. It's that simple. |
|
What is
royalty-free licensing? |
|
Royalty-free
licensing is based on the size of the product you need, not
its specific use. You don't have to pay any additional fees
on a use-by-use basis. Once you purchase a royalty-free
product, you may use it multiple times for multiple projects
without paying additional fees.
Detailed
license information is on our licensing page. You can get
that information by
clicking here.

|
Is my credit
card information protected on your website? |
|
Yes!
We understand
the concern for security when ordering via the Internet. In
order to keep your credit card information and other
personal details confidential we conduct all credit card
transactions through a secure server. The secure server
software encrypts all of your personal information including
credit card number, name and address, so that it cannot be
read as the information travels over the Internet.
Our secured
server supports standard SSL encryption. Your browser should
also support this encryption. If you get an error accessing
our secured server, either your browser does not support SSL
or your Internet connection may operate through a firewall
which does not allow a secured connection.
You
may verify that you are using an secured connection by the
presence of a locked padlock or unbroken key icon at the top
of most browsers; Or your browser may have a solid blue or
yellow line in the browser window when you have entered a
secure area.
The best
indication that you have entered a secure area is if the web
address in your browser window starts with an "https"
indication once the credit card payment page has been
accessed.

|
What forms of
payment do you accept? |
|
We
accept Visa and MasterCard, or we can accept payment by

|
|
How do I save
the image(s) I have bought onto my computer? |
|
mylife photos
has what we consider a very easy way to download your
images. Your photos will be set up on a special web browser
page where they can be downloaded individually or in
multiples (depending on your purchase). You can simply click
on an image and it will allow you to view it, or save it on
your computer. You can download images to your computer
using any web browser, Mac or PC. Your browser will ask you
where you want to save the file on your computer hard drive.
Just choose a location that is easy to find when you're done
and, depending on the browser you're using, click OK or
Save. |
|
Once I have
downloaded an image, can I cancel it? |

If
you decide that you do not want a purchased image, you may
cancel the image license within one week from the date of
the invoice without charge.
If
any Image is defective, mylife photos will replace it or
provide you with a full refund of your purchase price within
thirty (30) days of the date of purchase. CD’s come with a
warranty of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery
against defects in material and workmanship. Your sole and
exclusive remedy for a breach of this warranty is the
replacement of the CD or refund of the purchase price, at
the discretion of mylife photos. |
|
If I need to
re-download an image I have purchased, and it was "digitally
delivered", will I be charged? |
|
No.
Save the email that gives you the special link to your
download site. Often those links have an expiration date. If
you choose to download before the expiration date, there
should be no trouble. Should you choose to re-download after
the expiration date, please contact mylife at
info@mylifephotos.com.
We’re happy to help.
